Be aware many USB audio devices are not working at the moment with MacOS Sonoma. None of my usb audio devices seems to be working atm (Rode, FiiO USB DAC. MIC and DJ controller). Although it shows up in the USB device tree in the system information but its not detected by the OS as an audio device for input/output.

Apogee is also experiencing issues with MFi devices such as the One and Duet 1. I am personally experiencing this issue. The driver is not being blocked, it just doesn’t load.

FWIW I have a Focusrite Scarlet Solo and a Scarlet 18i8 and they both work great on my 2018 Intel Mac mini running Logic Pro in Sonoma. Both set to use Core Audio and both connecting via a USB C Dock.

Do you get a pop up asking you to allow the device?
I've noticed this is a difference between Monterey and Sonoma. I never had to allow USB devices in Monterrey or previous.

Nope, none at all for me. I had to restore back to Ventura to get everything working again. My fault for not reading the big warning pop-up not to upgrade on Rekordbox

My AT2020 usb mic isn't working with the 14.1 public beta release candidate. Granted this is an unsupported 2017 intel imac that is running Sonoma via opencore legacy patcher...but supposedly the only issue it had with Sonoma was that they stopped supporting the wifi card in it.

Mic works fine in Ventura and on my iphone.

UPDATE: It was the USB cable! Tried a new one and it works now.

UPDATE 2: It's my USB hub! I have an Anker 7 port usb3 hub hooked up and it seems like some devices aren't working properly through it now, whether because of Sonoma or the hub just going bad. I have an older fujitsu scansnap scanner that stopped working when I updated to Sonoma that now works if I plug it into the imac directly (same as my AT2020). My mac keyboard ALSO doesn't work if plugged into the hub. All 3 work using a different hub i had lying around (similar anker model so maybe that one just went bad...i'd used it for a long time). Hope this helps people.

My focusrite scarlett 2i2 DOES work w/ the 14.1 public beta on this computer...although I usually use it with my ipad and just wanted to test another usb audio device. So IDK if it was or wasn't working with Sonoma before updating to 14.1.

I'm having a problem with my audio-technica AT2020 usb on an apple silicon MBA m2 using my usb hub that used to work. This is under MacOS 14.1 public.

The device shows up and i can record but the audio is distant and feint. It could be the mic has gone bad, or it stopped working well using the existing hub. I ordered some new usbc to usba adapters, will update after I've tried that.

For now, the record from iphone or either of my airpods sounds way better.

From the RØDE page linked in the first post:
"Update (1/11/23): Apple has resolved this issue with the latest release version (14.1) of macOS Sonoma. If you experienced any limitations when connecting an MFi-certified USB product to your Intel-based Mac, updating your operating system should resolve the issue. "

Not true. I have a 2018 intel MacBook Pro with 14.1 latest stable running. No go with my m-audio interface. 😭
