USB bluetooth dongle problem

hi there.

my 6-core mac pro is standing outside of the control room in the studio where i work. all USB connections are made via USB extenders. everything works ok but the bluetooth dongle. since the magic mouse was not detected through the native apple bluetooth (to far away plus the thick walls) i decided to get an after market usb bluetooth dongle. this is working great, but everytime i restart the computer i have to disconnect de usb bluetooth dongle and connect it again and to link the mouse again. i guess there is a conflict between the native apple bluetooth and the usb bluetooth. i would appreciatte if anyboy could help me to solve this problem, since it's kind of annoying having to do this everytime i restart the computer.

can i disconnect somehow the native apple bluetooth so it doesn't interfere the new usb bluetooth dongle??

Hi,
I have the same kind of problem on a Mac Pro 2010, which is in a studio machine room.
To enjoy my magic mouse I had to put an USB Bluetooth adapter, but after some times the mouse always disconnect and then the computer crash. I check the logs, the BT dongle is the problem.

I tryed another brand, same thing.
Then I removed the antenna on the mother board, but same thing again.

Do you know how to remove the driver via Terminal ? I'm on OSX Lion.

I did the Oliver thing, physically disconnecting my 2009's internal bluetooth. External now works perfectly. 2010 is probably exactly the same, cause my 2009 now beleives it IS a 2010 thanks to Netkas! Easy to do and recommended.

iMac G4 ?

I have the same problem with my old iMac G4.... I bought a USB bluetooth dongle and plugged it in and it worked just fine. And I connected my mouse and keyboard.. But when I rebooted the Mac after installing an update.. The mouse and keyboard didn't work, and wasn't connected.. This happened every time I rebooted the Mac.. And now I'm back to the wired mouse and keyboard, and miss the wireless solution that was easy to hide from the table to gain more space...

Is it possible to do something to the iMac, so that it automatically recognize the USB bluetooth dongle and wireless keyboard and mouse after it boots up?

(it has no bluetooth by standard btw)
