Hi all,

I have a 2016 Macbook, with only one USB-C port. I'm wondering if there is an adaptor out there that allows you to use multiple USB-C devices going into your one port, but also has power passthrough - the obvious limitation being that while an adaptor is in, you cannot charge your laptop.

I've seen this Belkin one but it doesn't have power passthrough.

Has anyone seen anything else out there?

To clarify, I'm aware that there are USB-C adaptors (to HDMI, ethernet, VGA, etc) that have ONE USB-C port with power passthrough, but I'm looking for an adaptor with two or more, allowing me to charge my Macbook while having an additional USB-C device connected.

My end goal is to connect my 2012 Thunderbolt display to my 2016 Macbook. I currently have this Thunderbolt 1&2 to Thunderbolt 3/USB-C adaptor, but when I use it, my Macbook says it doesn't support it. Could this be a power issue?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Henry
