Hi,

I have the MacBook Pro Retina 15" with magsafe 2 from years ago when they first came out. It's close to dying on me. My magsafe 2 broke on me years ago (well the cable tore near the magsafe port) and I "fixed" it with electrical tape. It helped and let me charge my laptop until now... The cable is completely torn now. It's like the white part that covers the wires has melted with the electrical tape...it's strange...

I have a charger from the new macbook (the first one with USB C that came out) which is not in use because it is plugged in a screen which also charges the laptop.

I was wondering if somehow there is an attachment or converter or something that would let me use the new macbook's charger on my MacBook Pro with the magsafe? I can't justify buying a new magsafe charger when my computer is going to dye anytime now. These are not cheap!

If anyone can help, I'd be truly grateful! <3

Unfortunately, there's no such converter. Even if there was, the 12" MacBook's charger is only 29W compared to the 85W your MacBook Pro uses.
