USB Expansion: Can Apple Enable This?

Since there is a USB port in the ATV, could apple allow us to use it as an expansion port for a larger hard disk at some point? Can they do that with a software fix?
 
Yes, they could do it. And I wish they would. But will they and when will they? That is the mystery.
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see Apple sell an external BlueRay player and the addition of a DVD Player-like app (as in Front Row) added to Back Row. May happen in October when Leopard comes out (which will support BlueRay). Then all it would have to do is pass-through the 5.1 audio out the ATV's optical port.
