USB external soundcard

I bought an iMic like a 8 months ago for my ibook but never really put it to use. I'm curious as to whether or not using the usb imic as a soundcard for my speakers will sound better than using the internal soundcard of the ibook. I've tried both, and my mind is telling me that the imic card is better but that may just be me trying to tell myself that I didn't waste 30 bucks

Pretty difficult to say, but the theory is that the iMic is a better D/A convertor than your built-in one.

And the iBook was made for travelin', not so much for sound quality...

I also use my imic to connect my speakers and i have also noticed better sound quality using that setup
