iPad Pro USB Hard drive and SD card will not mount

i am running the iPad Pro 12.9 on iOS 13 Beta 2 and I have tried and tried and I can get external drives to mount in the files app. I am using a usb hard drive formatted for Mac OS Journaled and I have it plugged in straight from the hard drive to a USB C cable and directly into the iPad Pro and it does not mount. Neither does my SD cards or thumb drives. Everything I have read says it works flawlessly but I have been trying all day and nothing happens. I have searched and can’t even find anyone else experiencing this can anyone shed some light?

The usb hard drive is getting power cause the light comes on it spins up but nothing shows in the files app

I've seen hard drives connected to unpowered hubs light up and spin but still not connect to a PC due to insufficient power.

Just to check - everything is unencrypted right? None of these are formatted with encrypted hfs+ or APFS?

Encrypted HFS+ or APFS do NOT work.

Also - have you tried rebooting? Yes I know, but it’s beta and it’s helped me loads with problems like this.

I’d start with just trying to get an sd card to mount - you eliminate power issues that way (I’m not saying you have any, but to be sure).

Yes the Hard Drive is not encrypted. Neither are the SD Cards that don’t mount

I’m sure it’s a bug. I can’t get my SD cards to work. They are all read only.
