Why not! You would need a USB-A to USB-C adapter, and an open Thunderbolt port to plug your keyboard in.
Or, if you quickly run out of the 3 ports, you would need a hub/dock of some kind to add more ports. Those often have USB-A ports as a choice, where you wouldn't need a USB adapter with that.

What don’t you understand about it? It will accept regular USB-C accessories, but it also has additional capabilities. Many people use a dock, so they can plug in a single thunderbolt cable into their Mac, and have lots of different connections to include USB-C and USB-A
The Thunderbolt ports are multi-talented.
You get Thunderbolt for those native thunderbolt devices that you might have.
Same port is USB 4 (USB-C connector size, but faster) for most any USB device.
You can also use one of the thunderbolt ports for battery charging (the magsafe connector is not the only choice for charging)
You also get DisplayPort video signal out through any thunderbolt port.
So you can see, those little oval ports speak many languages.

I believe the "and an open Tbold port" mixed me up... maybe it should be "or an open Tbold port"

How the port behaves depends on what is plugged into it.
DON'T get an adapter like the one you see in reply 9 above.
If you use one like this, it may "block" the adjacent ports.
Instead, get a USBc-to-USBa adapter CABLE like this:
