Basic set-up question regarding my new Blue Yeti microphone. I'm using it with my iMac plugged directly into USB port in the iMac itself.

The microphone works fine and I don't have any difficulty with it functioning as a microphone.

My question is this - I don't understand why the setup instructions that came with the microphone (see excerpt below) say to select the Yeti in system settings, both for Input and for Output.

This doesn't make sense to me - the microphone doesn't have a speaker, it isn't used to both listen and to speak, it is simply functioning as a microphone. So why does it also appear as a choice for sound output??

Ah ha! I should have figured that out myself. I am attaching my headphones to my dock so wasn't even thinking of that feature. (Plus, now that I do think about it, I don't really want to have the headphone cable feeding out from the microphone).

Thanks!
