I decided to change from my pro 2s with lightening to the USB C version a week ago. I enjoyed the lightening ones and the medium tips fit me perfectly. Since changing Pros the new medium tips don't seem to fit as well. I thought the actual airpods would be exacty the same size so I can't explain this. Also the noise cancellation doesn't seem anywhere near as good. When the TV is on in the background, I can hear it a lot more than the lightening Pro 2s. I am wishing I didn't change over now

That’s a bummer to hear for you, perhaps something is amiss in the settings? My USB-C AirPods noise cancellation seems significantly better than my lightning 2G Pros ever were. Hate to state the obvious, but make sure you’re not in adaptive or transparency modes. You might also tinker with personalized volume and conversation awareness to make sure those aren’t affecting your experience as well.

I have noticed for me that adaptive mode prefers to stay in transparency a lot of the time. Which is fine, but it makes the AirPods seem like they have less volume/punch, and sometimes I manually turn on notice cancellation for that reason.

If you’ve determined that for sure they still suck, I’d return or exchange them for another set. Mine turned out great and I like them so much better than my lightning 2G Pros.

Reviving this thread. It seems the last few firmware updates have made the Noise control worse. I can hear my work colleague open and closing drawers far away on the other side of the office for example. Wish I had kept my lightening versions now but I hear they have also been updated.

I read Apple had to do something with the ANC algorithm due to a law suit or something so this is probably why.

Are you sure you don't have Adaptive mode on instead?

While I can't compare the Pro 2 Lightning to the Pro 2 USB-C, I can tell you that my USB-C Pro 2s are much better at noise cancelling than my AirPods Pro gen 1.
