Is it possible to set up a USB Raid on a Macbook? I would like 2 500GB hard drives (separate) connected for redundancy when I add files.

Thanks

bump :-x

Don't see why it wouldn't work.

You wouldn't have any free USB ports though unless your using a hub.

You also wouldn't be able to see the RAID array on anything other than a MAC.

if you can get your hands on drives with firewire, go that route instead.

Most firewire enclosures have a second port so you can daisy-chain them together. As for RAID, i am not sure...i'm sure there are ways to force it if it doesnt work on its own. I've tried enabling RAID on a pair of thumb drives. OS X wouldnt let me.
