Soooo I was playing Starcraft 2 on my MBA and the computer just shut down all of a sudden. Then when I booted back up the USB mouse I had plugged in doesnt work. I've since restarted and plugged in various things and it still doesnt work. What the heck!

Of course I did. I tried mouse and harddrive in another mac and they work just fine. No hickups at all on other systems...

Try this...

Have you tried resetting your parameters?
Restart and hold down the "option", "command", "p", and "r" buttons before the computer chimes. Keep holding till the computer chimes 3 times before letting go. This refreshes some of the system memory and will not harm your computer. Things like sound settings return to default...meaning it might kick in your USB to work again.

It this fails, use the hardware diagnostic in your install DVDs to check the hardware and/or the Mactools if you bought Applecare.

Let us know how if went/goes.

No chance I could run the CDs because no way to connect a drive to this computer at this point. As far as doing the other procedure until I hear 3 chimes, no luck in OSX or Win 7. :(

No luck with USB yet and now my hard drive is making the clicking sound of death. What should I do? I'm about a hairs breadth away from buying a IBM X201 with an SSD
