Just a quick post based on an idea that I had: as a further form of market segmentation, how likely do you think it is that next year's iPhone 15 gets USB 3.2 Gen 1x2 or 2x2 (10Gbit/s and 20Gbit/s) and the iPhone 15 Pros (or iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Ultra, in titanium, naturally) get USB4 Gen 3x2 (40Gbit/s) to support marketing like 8K ProRes and high res ProRaw data transfer? They've put plenty of thunderbolt controllers in Apple silicon devices (iPad Pro, iPad Air, every Apple silicon Mac): with all the speculation about Lightning getting liquidated next year, it seems like a smart marketing move to replace it with something that absolutely dominates it. These are just some thoughts I had recently.
