Use 3.3v 1.8in SSD in 2011 Mac Mini

Hi does anyone know whether I could use a 1.8in SSD (running at 3.3v rather than 5v of 2.5in SSD drives) from a laptop in a Mac Mini without frying the SSD? I was using it successfully in a HP desktop previously.
