Use a MacBook as a keyboard and mouse

Yes, this may seem crazy but I have a weird way of working, which usually always involves my MacBook and iMac.

I hate having to switch keyboards all the time so I'm looking for a solution.

Is there anything that will allow me to use my MacBook normally, then using a keyboard shortcut, swap the keyboard and mouse input to my iMac, as a sort of remote keyboard and mouse? Then just keyboard shortcut back to the MacBook?

Remote Desktop turned on for the iMac and Chicken of the VNC on the MacBook should do what you're wanting.

There is a program out there that lets you move your mouse off one screen on to the other. However I can't find it at the moment i will keep looking.

With a little bit of digging I found it. This may be just what you want: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19457 Its called Event Sharing. I have never used it. But I have heard the people who do use it really enjoy it.
