I have an unactivated Tesco Mobile iPhone SIM - with 12 months inclusive data - from when I bought my iPhone 3GS (activated on my o2 simplicity contract sim instead of Tesco). If I trim the SIM down to the right size, will this work in a 3G iPad? Has anyone tried anything similar?

Tesco mobile is o2 basically.

I've trimmed an o2 iPhone payg sim that gives unlimited Internet for 12 months then unlimited monthly with each 10 topup. It's worked flawlessly for the last 12 days.

Just had to enter the payg cellular settings into the ipad and away I went.

Excellent. Next problem will be actually getting hold of a 3g iPad on the 28th!! And figuring out how to justify spending £600 while "between jobs"!!

The justification comes when you use one for the first time. Steve was right there is nothing like it. Going back to a desktop machine and using a keyboard and mouse feels weird. I have touché screen syndrome!

I haven't entered any APN settings or anything . Should I have?
