when I heard ios13 was going to have font options i expected them to either be built in, or easily useable. I went to the app store and found 3 year old apps that display fonts, but it still wasn’t what I expected or was looking for. Is there no way to simply go to the App Store and download “a font” to use? I’m not understanding this.

You are supposed to be able to go to the store and buy/get an app that has a single collection that you then go and install through Settings. It is likely with the 13.0 issues they are waiting to push it out.

We've been able to install fonts with a profile/iTunes File Sharing for a few years now. That's what all those existing apps are for.

Suppose I’ll wait to see what happens. Apple always makes these things intuitive, and right now it’s anything but.

I just saw an app called Font Diner quickly come and go (and now back again) on the Apps tab in the App Store. They're retro and probably not what people are looking for, but it shows you how this is going to work moving forward. You tap a button to activate, agree to the terms, and then you're good to go.

Apps have to be updated to use them.

Note that it's specified that you can only use these for personal use.
