Use Apple iPhone 3G dock with ipod touch?

Hi,

I'm just checking the 'Apple iPhone 3G Dock' will work with the ipod touch 3rd gen?

I'm assuming it will, but its not listed as compatible on the Apple Site.


Has anyone tried it?

If so, could you give me some impressions? Does it sit okay in the stand?


This dock just looks nicer than the 'universal' one, plus its cheaper.

I'm sure it will work, but since the Touch is quite a bit thinner than the 3G it's not going to fit securely and will probably strain the dock connector somewhat.

Personally I'd save up some more money and get the universal dock rather than risk damaging my iPod. There are also third party dock solutions available.
