I have the mini in one corner of the room and use bluetooth devices that are 45 feet away in the next room. It actually works but not well. In the past I have a 30 foot usb extender and put a bluetooth receiver in the middle of the room. When I try this with the mini it just screws the bluetooth up for both internal and external. Kind of works but on reboot it is a total crapshoot. Is there any way to tell OSX to use the external one and not the internal. I really want to do this without disconnecting anything internally.
As an alternative I wouldn't mind running long usb but then I need something like a magic trackpad that runs on usb. But I can't find any of them either
