Use external mic with MacBook Pro 15" 2018

I wonder how I can use an external mic like the one in the photo with my MacBook Pro 15" 2018?

Your mic has a TRS jack as shown by the 2 black bands dividing the jack into 3 sections. The MacBook expects a TRRS (4 sections) plug that provides both mono input and output. As result the mic is not compatible with your MacBook (and a lot of other computers). So you have a couple of choices.

• Option 1 is get an TRRS Y-adapter. This plugs into the jack and has a mic and earphone TRS plugs. • Option 2 is to use a USB mic and earphone adapter and connect it to your Mac with a USB-C to USB-A dongle.
