Use iPad as Airplay Receiver?

As the title says! :D lol

I barely ever use my iPad, and I'm in a part of the world where you can't really get an apple TV. However I've been messing around with Reflections for my mac, and I love how I can watch videos on it from my iPhone's Airplay.

I want to connect my iPad to my TV and use it as an airplay receiver so I can send videos from my mac and iphone. Is there any way I'd be able to do that?

Yes, buy an AppleTV. (I read they are not sold where you live) but have one shipped perhaps.
Other than that, your iPad will not connect to your TV.
 
Oh I think you're misunderstanding me. I have the HDMI connector for my iPad so I can connect it to my TV and all that fun stuff. It's merely a matter of figuring out how to get the videos from my iPhone/Mac to stream on the iPad so I can watch it on my TV.

It's pretty much what an Apple TV does (or the OS X version of AirServer) with a VERY important difference: it can't mirror. All in all, if you want the full experience, get an Apple TV instead.

Then your thread and question are mis-titled.
AirPlay is wireless.
Using an HDMI cable is not AirPlay.

Yes it is, consider the iPad as the Apple TV, tired of wasting money on ATV's when I've got 3 old iOS devices that 2 years ago could act as an AirPlay reciever and now cannot. Non sense
