Hi, has anyone tried to use an ipad 3/4 keyboard case/stand for the mini as a keyboard? Which one do you use?

There are tons of ipad 3/4 keyboard cases on amazon. I am looking for the one that allows me to insert the mini into the slot so I don't have to use the mini and the keyboard as two separate pieces. Preferably, I hope the keyboard can allow me to type comfortably while sitting in couch.

Using a full sized keyboard for the mini

Hi, has anyone tried to use an ipad 3/4 keyboard case/stand for the mini as a keyboard? Which one do you use?

There are tons of ipad 3/4 keyboard cases on amazon. I am looking for the one that allows me to insert the mini into the slot so I don't have to use the mini and the keyboard as two separate pieces. Preferably, I hope the keyboard can allow me to type comfortably while sitting in couch.

I have a Zagg Pro Plus for the iPad 2/3 and have been using it with the mini. Works okay, looks weird, but what do I care at home? Holds the iPad up just has an extra inch beyond the edge when oriented in landscape.

Your (and mine) search will probably be over when the Logitech Ultrathin and the Belkin FastFit start shipping. There are a number of "aftermarket" versions, but none of them were in my opinion, satisfactory - I ended up sending 3 different ones back to their shippers.

Short of getting used to a 7" keyboard, I may consider purchasing the Zagg Flex keyboard for use on a table or desk. Rarely have a need to have a keyboard on the couch.

I just got in the Logitech Ultra Thin Cover for mini and I am surprised at how usable it is - my typing speed is nearly identical to my Apple keyboard.

I can use it on my lap which I can't easily do with the Apple keyboard/iPad.

If you are looking for a full size keyboard get the Apple BT otherwise I recommend the Logitech cover - I use the SmartCover most days, but when I need it - its great to have.

Dgail, Giuly and musicpenguy: thank you all for the info. I ordered Logitech Keyboard Case By ZAGG for iPad 3 (3rd Gen) several days ago. The ZAGG website sells it for $49.98 with 50% off. I hope it will fit the mini. The only concern is that the mini has a much thinner bezel than ipad3, so I hope I can still see the full screen in landscape mode.

Got my hands on the Logitech K811 a few days ago.
It's pretty nice. It's about the size of Apples bluetooth keyboard.
It has illumination which is something apples keyboard should have if you ask me.

The main reason I like this keyboard is it's ability to swap between 3 diffrent devices on the fly. Also build in buttons like homescreen for ios is a nice extra.
