Use Macbook Pro Install CD for Mac Pro

Im just wondering - is it possible to use my Macbook Pro (13) Snow Leopard Install disk for my 1.1 Mac Pro? Or are there different versions of OSX that are hardware specific? Is it legal also?

1) The Install DVD that comes with a new Mac is only licensed for that Mac

2) It is locked to only install on that exact type of Mac so won't work anyway
