Use macbook speakers

Here's an odd one, Is it possible for me to use the speaker on my MBA as a kind of dock? Like plug an ipod into the headphone jack and play the music out through the laptops built in speakers?]
I know you can plug in an ipod and play the music out through itunes but looking for a more elegant solution (and there might be multiple ipods)

Wow, I thought you were gonna be wrong, but I just checked it out on Apple's site and that's kinda crappy. So there's no line in possible without using more expensive USB versions on a mba? Rubbish.
