Still here.
I've been given the task of setting up a new MacBook Pro for a customer at work, and he insists on using Outlook 2011 for his email, calendar, and contacts, as opposed to Mail, iCal, and Address Book. That wouldn't be a problem, except for that he uses MobileMe for these things and I have no clue to how set it up the way that he wants it.

From what I read, some of the MobileMe services (Calendar, specifically) might not work with the latest Outlook. If that's the case, what other options do I have for syncing his Outlook calendar with his iPhone? He does not want to use anything but Outlook and I haven't been able to convince him how much easier it would be if he didn't.

Can anyone help me with this? Let me know what other information you need.

I gave up on Outlook and stuck with Apple mail. First the cal from Outlook only syncs with ICal and not mm. Furthermore it is not a true sync, for each category you make in outlook it create a new cal in iCal. Next, if you use iCal to share with others over mm they will not see your outlook events and if they add an event to iCal or mm it doesn't go to outlook.

What's worse you can not add a published cal to outlook either. There are more issue but you get the point.

I also had a tpm of bugs with getting mail from gmail and mm into Outlook and had to rebuild the database a few times for no known reason.

Eventually I just gave up. Maybe you can publish your outlook to google, publish that to iCal and mm or just to his phone but iirc I couldn't get that to work either.

Outlook 2011 for Mac while better than entourage is still crap for what it cost. I will never buy another ms product for my macs ever.

For mail: set the server to mail.me.com, using IMAP , Port 993, SSL

For Calendar: set the server to https://cal.me.com using CalDAV

Notes:
1) you will lose the PUSH notification and subscribed calendar with Outlooks
2) Username, enter your full MobileMe email address, including @me.com or @mac.com.

For Contacts: They're stored locally, just use MM to synch them
