Use more of my TV screen when Airplay-ing from iPad

I am streaming some NCAA football from my iPad to my apple TV but it leaves a large black bar on the 2 sides and bottom of my TV screen (not the top). How can I get the picture to take up more of my screen? I have a 32" 720p TV, if that makes a difference

There are only a couple of adjustments u can make... I think SCALE is your only option.

I have the same problem when airplaying from my iphone. Change the aspect ratio on your TV. I've got a Panasonic 720p TV and the "zoom" aspect ratio fixes this problem. You just need to switch back when you're done.
