ok so my old 4g iPod has been dead for some time now(cracked screen) and i was thinking about taking the 20 gig hard drive out and converting it to a usb drive. Does anyone know of a good adapter for this?

and does anyone know if that hard drive (toshiba 20 gig) can handle having an OS installed and using it for that reason?

any help would be great!:D

thanks a lot, that really helps.

the only other thing i want to know is if these drives can handle an OS being installed and booting from it.

Yes they can. However, its not ideal long term, only occasional use. Because 1, they are slow. And 2, they wont last long with continuous heavy use (Running an OS on such a drive strains it much more than a few MP3's ever would)
