I would like to know if anyone knows a way to use the Shortcuts app to change settings in the Mobile Data area of the Settings app.

I use my iPhone with 2 SIMs, personal and work.

I switch the work one on workdays in the morning and off in the evening - manually.

Additionally, when I turn the work SIM on, I manually set it up that it primarily uses the work SIM for data. When I turn the work SIM off in the evening, it automatically switches the data to my personal SIM.

I would love to create 2 shortcuts to:
  • Switch on the work SIM, and set the data usage to use the work SIM.
  • Switch off the work SIM
So far I've not found any way to do something like this. Has anyone ever tried something like this?

fairly sure that the answer is »No«. Currently, the "closest" - and that’s quit BIG quotes I use here 😃 - Shortcuts can get to what you want is to open Settings' Cellular pane via its URL:

prefs:root=MOBILE_DATA_SETTINGS_ID

  • Open ShortCuts.
  • Set the URL.
  • Tell Safari to open URL.
