I just bought my wife an 8 gig 2G iPhone, and I was wondering about activation. Since she's got an AT&T phone right now, can I just put her old sim in it and it will work or will I still have to hacktivate it?

I put my friends sim in my iphone and it worked. He got a call while his sim was in my phone and it worked fine. I think the iphone needs to be activated with the sim it comes with but after that I think that any at&t sim will work in it but I'm not sure as I've only done it once and that was after my phone was activated. Just try it and find out if it doesn't work activate the iphone sim.

i put a sim from different network and it didn't work, didn't try with AT&T but I assume it has to work since it's the same network (AT&T)
