iphoneringtonemaker is way better and only 10 bucks. You can chose the 30 sec. cut you want to be your ringtone. Much better if you have a pc. Sorry no macs.

I can FTP ringtones (and other files) to my phone for free. It was so easy I hesitate calling it a hack. Besides, you really think that program doesn't go through the same steps as the other Jailbreaking apps like AppTapp. It probably just automates installing the SSH and BSD files.

Many macs run windows Paco, like m own..... I prefer free way with my custom icons and programs.

this thread is filled with irony and hilarity.

First off, I bought itoner. It's 15 bucks and works really easy. Whether it's hacking or not, it's easy to use. one step. no resetting, restarting, quitting apps, etc.

point one: the 15 bucks pays the guy who made the app. you pay where credit is due. I can support that.

point two: it's 15 bucks. I find it hard to believe people who put down 600 bucks on a phone to be "cheapskates." 15 bucks is not alot at all. it's not cheap for the software, nor is it expensive. i think it's fair. 15 bucks is like one lunch.

From what I read this software is just for macs thais why I brought up the iphoneringtonemaker. It also said that without a separate audio editor you could not select what part of the song would be the ringtones. That sucks. Iphoneringtonemaker let's you do that and its only 10 bucks. You can download the trial version which gives you three ringtones for free. It was so easy. Choose the song, choose the 30 seconds you want to be your ringtones and send it to the phone. That's it what could be easier?

Doing it on a mac. I know it's extremely hard to believe, but most people on this forum use and prefer a mac. I'd pay $50 for the same software before I would ever want to tether myself to windows for anything other than testing and gaming.

Care to elaborate?

Use your own ringtones, no hacks, no jailbreak!

Sheesh - no kidding! Why on earth someone would develop software that only runs on a legacy Windoze system for the iPhone makes no sense. Got some serious backwards thinking going on there...

like lavrishevo said alot of mac owners run windows programs so if you could why would'nt you take advandage of a better program that costs less? I am not a mac hater or anything like that would like to have one just at this moment i have a pc.

Well....the reason I bought my first Mac a couple of years ago was to GET AWAY FROM WINDOWS and all its problems! I have since moved from my G5 PPC Mac to intel-based Macs, but guess what? I'm STILL not interested in ever putting any version of Windows on any of my Macs. Period. Full Stop.

Actually, I am not the least bit interested in any sort of third-party software that hacks into my iPhone to create ringtones or anything else. I am more than happy to wait for Apple to come out with their officially-sanctioned, safe and reliable ringtone or other applications....

Probably because people have been hacking PocketPC architechture on windows for years and the iPhone is very similar underneath. And because they didn't want to be jerks and just put it out for Linux only. Just a guess, that and there are unfortunatly probably more iPhone owners that own a PC, im not sure, but I wouldn't bet against it... most programers learned to program on Win before Mac I would think. That and the pride that comes from using win to hack a holy grail apple product.
