Used 1st gen or new 2nd gen? (12.9 IPP)

After seeing the improvements included in iOS 11, I would like to replace my 4th gen mini with a 12.9 Pro (which I suspect will also lead to me using my MBP less).

I am debating between a used 1st gen 32GB, which look to be selling for about 500-550 or a new 2nd gen 64, which will cost $800. Storage space really isn't an issue for me. The fact that they both have 4GB of RAM and that the 1st gen is already so powerful has me questioning the 250-300 price difference. However, I am also intrigued by the screen upgrades, particularly the 120hz.

Any thoughts?

I'd personally just get the new 2nd gen 12.9 Pro as despite the extra its newer and in the end you'll most likely enjoy the better display, etc.

I would opt for the second generation 12.9 iPad. The updated specifications are impressive enough with the 4GB of Ram, 120HZ, wider color gamut, 600 Nits of Brightness and A10X processor.

And the first iPad 12.9 did not have Tru-Tone display and the second generation iPad 12.9 does have it. It's a nice feature once you start Using it.

I just literally bought a used 128GB iPP today. Still getting used to the size, but loving the pencil ! For me, buying second hand was the way I could justify my purchase to myself. The 120Hz and trutone don't really "speak" to me as things that I particularly need, but then, I'm no graphic designer. I'm thinking of using it for quick sketches, UX drawings etc. Nothing major. I will probably buy a keyboard and see if I still need my surface pro3.
