What do these go for used?

Any speculations regarding what they will go for used in 2 years?

Both have the low light performance I crave. Still saving... Thanks.

Used D700s sell on eBay from 1900 - 2400 US, depending on condition - most of them in the 2200-2300 range. For a while I saw factory refurbs going for 2199 US from several major Nikon distributors.

I don't know anything about the Canon 5D MkII used market.

I would wait until they release a successor to your favorite camera (I assume you already own lenses). I reckon there is a good chance we will see a D700s rather sooner than later (sooner than a 5D Mark III anyway) that incorporates the same upgrades that the D3 has seen. Which means, prices of the D700 will drop even further. :)

well dunno, i would say while bodies do drop in price, used 5D's still go for 1k euros easily, after how many years?. The thing is, will you want one of those cameras then or rather something new in 2 years?...

Thanks for your time. Looks like the prices of these aren't going down for quite a while...

Depends on what comes out. If the 5D (Mk. I) is any indicator, for all I know, the technology will trickle down to the less expensive models faster than the prices drop of the used current models...

I'm not surprised at all, especially with the 7D in the picture now.

I didn't see the 7D putting much pressure on the 5D - they are sort of different beasts... Oh well, sort of like computers, there isn't much you can do... so goes the digital world...
