Hi all, I want to purchase a second hand ipad pro 10.5 256g for usd430. But the sell said there is a dead pixel on the lcd screen.
The ipad is under apple warranty till sep2019. Will apple replace a new/refurbish ipad for free if theres 1 dead pixel?
is usd430 a good deal?

Thanks

If it has Apple care + and you’re not sure, you could accidentally break your iPad and get it replaced. That would solve your problem.

They will charge $49 USD so it will end up costing you $479 USD.

If you have Apple Care + they will replace your device with a refurbished one.
As told, I would suggest you to ask for an Express Replacement for free, I had my 10.5 swapped in that way for a single white stuck pixel.
Unfortunately the refurbished unit was complete garbage with a lot of breathing/cracking noise from the upper screen, but that's another story.

How did you work out the free part? Unless you mean it was free after they released the authorization.

1) Phone to Apple, explain the prolem then request an Express Replacement under AppleCare+.
2) Within 1/2 days they send a refurbished device after freezing on your credit card the value of it.
3) After the new device is delivered, you have to use the provided box to send back the defective one, calling the courier for the pick up.

i think jschu22 was asking why you don't have to pay for the damage fee usd49 to replace it.

Because a defective pixel means a faulty device and not a damage caused by you, so there is no fee.
Infact if that accours within the first year you could have your device replaced from Apple even if you do not own AppleCare+ (in that scenario not with express replacement, since that is only for AppleCare+ owners).
