I have a chance to score a 2009 2 x 2.26 Quad Core Mac Pro, 12 GB memory, 250 hard drive (would upgrade to SSD anyway), running 10.10.5 for $595 from a local used Mac store.

I am giving my niece my 2006 Mac Pro, it's slow and can't run anything other than Lion. I have a new 27" riMac that is awesome but want another machine for upstairs and for dedicating to specific programs (audio).

What do you think, is this a good deal for a 2009 Mac? I think so but wanted some opinions!? TY!

Yes, as long as it is a dual processor model it should hold its value pretty well, considering it could be upgraded to a 12-core 3.46. $600 sounds like a decent deal.
