used ziphone but phone keeps freezing with 1.1.4. Help!

hey. I got a refurbished phone that had 1.1.1 I restored to 1.1.4 through iTunes. Then I used ziphone to jailbreak and unlock and now I am experiencing long episodes of freezing. I don't know if I should try iplus? Any help would be appreciated. Is it bad to use both programs or does it not matter cause I am gonna restore in iTunes anyway?
