To techies or those who have upgraded ...

I am thinking of upgrading to IP8 (from 6S) though possibly XR if it will go in my pocket. Looking at Geekbench and average singles or multi scores, if I am not gaming or video editing then does the single core provide the best benchmark to determine day to day performance gains or should I look at multi core? It looks like the IP8 is nearly double the so called speed of the 6S so a worthwhile upgrade but would prefer the newer screen size of the XR.

Thanks!

They are both both pointless when it comes to standard everyday apps like facebook, twitter or instagram. In fact, I feel that iphone XS launches these apps at the same pace at the older iphone X/8 or even the iphone 7. Android phones seem to launch apps like twitter and instagram faster for some reason. I feel that iphone XS power only comes into play when you load heavier gaming apps and do video editing. It's pointless if you don't even use these apps. Since you are thinking of getting the Iphone 8, I say go for it. It's a lot cheaper, and you get a similar performance.

Ok, but apps that sync like OmniFocus I now find quite slow on the 6s, whereas the iPad 10.5 is much better so I think it will make a difference, also am hoping that browsing will be smoother. Trouble here is that I would prefer the bigger screen.
