user application using safari in iphone?

Hello all,

I just bought an iphone and i'm curious if a user can develop an application
that uses user inputs, process them and interact with safari browser.

i don't have experience in developing application, i'm just a beginner and it came in my mind an idea for developing an application like the one i mentioned above.
So is it possible?

thanks for your reply, i just need some information about iphone.

is it possible to have an application running for example voice interpreter and your application to use other resources of the iphone, for example the keyword, or to invoke safari in order to return inforamtion found in the web..
Can you give me some clues in order to begin with?
