I recently upgraded from Mojave to Monterey on my MBP. Previously I had 3 users on my screen when I booted up, Marty, Martin and Admin. The Admin user disappeared when I upgraded. Not sure what to do.

hmm... I don't believe that you can use the name "Admin" to name a user account on a Mac now. It is normally a name reserved by the system.
I could be wrong about that... But, if you go to the Users folder (at the root of your boot drive), is there a folder there named "Admin".
It's also possible that the upgrade to Monterey made that Admin folder invisible - so, in that Users folder, press the Shift, Option, and period (decimal point works too). You will see all the files and folders that are invisible on your drive.
Do you see a folder named "Admin" in the Users folder now?

If you want to hide all those files that are normally hidden, just press the same Shift-Command-. again.

As well as checking for the existence of folder /Users/Admin, you can:

1) Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups. Can you see a user called Admin?
2) Does Admin appear in Fast User Switching list?
3) Again in System Preferences > User & Groups > Login Options. Does it help to change login window style?

I don't have a user called "Admin", but I do have one called "admin". It works fine.

I tried everything folks suggested, but nothing worked. The guy who set up my MBP when I bought it a few years back created 3 users, but the one called Admin seems to have completely disappeared. Doesn't appear to be a problem though, I never used that user anyway. Thanks for the ideas!
