I deleted a standard user by deleting all content including the home catalog. But it still shows up on the login screen. The folder isn't longer o. The system and the only account left is the admin account.

What I've done so far:

  • Cleared SMC and NVRAM.
  • Disk utility.
  • Safe mode.
  • Restarted.
  • Running latest version available.
The user still shows up. Anyone k ows what's wrong?

Open System Preferences->Users & Groups, add the user back in and then delete from Users & Groups. Does the user still show up on the login screen?

I'll give it a try. But that's exactly how I deleted it in the first place so I don't expect much chance. But you never know.

Extra details: i went into users and chose to delete it entirely from there. So didn't do any special cases. And it seems it's gone in every way, except the login screen. It's mostly annoying.

Thank you!!! That solved it! I made sure to use different user names as well, and now it's gone. You're an angel!
