So I just picked up my shiny new iPhone here in Switzerland and now I'd like to try MobileMe and its push-service.

There seems to be a 20 characters limit when choosing a name and since it's implied that this will be the @me.com e-mail adress, I'm a tad sceptical in choosing one.

Assume I have a "firstname.lastname" that is longer than 20 characters. Does this mean I can't have an accordingly @me.com adress? Or is the username only for the purpose of logging in?

This is a bit weak and confusing. Not everyone is named John Doe. I mean I'm not talking about an Indian name or something, it's just 22 characters for crying out loud.

Sorry, the limit is 20 characters.

If you're a real fanboy, you'll change your name. :D

That sucks, I guess you'll just have to get creative with it.

Using a first and last name for an email address can have its downfalls anyway. If you want to mind your privacy you'd need to have a more anonymous email address for those contacts. I have email addresses that have my full name but I seldom give them out and use my more anonymous ones more often.

Just a thought.
