Hello, I did install a new ssd blade where the os's will be installed. On a second SSD I would like to install the USERS.

In the past I did use `ln -s` what did work fine.

However I read about that this will give issue's with the iCloud drive's, didn't try it ( yet ).
The solution would be, as they say, to move the User folder using the account user pref panel.

What are the dis or advantages of either way?

I will have more then one start os. The regulair MacOS and one or two for the beta OS. But I would like to have all the accounts on the User drive. This means that I have to keep in mind to change the user id for each different user that I will create in what MacOS so ever.
The number of accounts/users will be around 8.

Are there better idea's and suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Only suggestion I have from trying it once is make sure to delete the old account folder in the /Users folder on your OS drive or it will continue to be used by programs for storage, caches .... At least that is what it did to me all those years ago when I tried it who knows perhaps Apple did put some time into changing that but I doubt it.

Thank you for your reaction.

Yep, this is a mandatory action in both cases. This, the problem, happens often when a developer didn't use the right way to discover a user path.
As a side note, I notice in Swift 5.1/Catalena that there is no use of the '~' anymore/for now.

Hello.
I moved my user folder to another disk, after a clean Catalina install, and only then I logged to Apple account on System Preferences (I skipped this step at installation), but I got no iCloud folders Sync.

Maybe it is safer to use links to the disk where you want your files to reside.
Links are the official way to goof the software since 1970.
