With the rumours of a thinner iPhone beginning to take shape, are there any existing iPhone 12 or 13 Mini users who are interested in the smaller form factor that are excited about or planning to purchase this device?

If so, what are your expectations? Is there any thing that may affect your interest in this rumoured device?

As a Mini user myself, I’m intrigued by other Mini users thoughts on this subject.

While I'm not expecting any screens smaller than 6" when mini mourning and replacement time comes, this rumored phone gives me hope that there might at least be a lighter option. And as someone who rarely uses the camera, I like the rumored simplified camera.

I don't use a mini, but my wife has a 13 Mini. And she wanted it for the width and height dimensions - it fits better in specific pockets in the various bags she carries - and isn't as concerned with thickness.

So if, as I suspect, this thinner phone will be a large format width and height, she'll have no interest at all.

From what an Apple Podcasts I was listening to, it’s smaller than a iPhone pro max, but bigger than a 6.1 iPhone. Hmmmm so it’s not actually in the same spirit as what the mini was made.

If this iPhone 17 Slim is a flip phone (and priced similar to Galaxy ZFlip) then definitely a consideration for 12/13 Mini owners.

I am an iPhone 13 Mini user, and plan to use it for as long as possible. The only way the so-called iPhone 17-Slim or "Air" might be of interest to me is if its thinness, use of only a single camera and likely heavy use of Alluminium results in a noticably lighter device. Besides the large physical size, my next biggest beef with "modern" iPhones is the weight, especially the stainless steel that was used on the Pro's and even the titanium, to a lesser extent. A significantaly lighter iPhone to hold and to carry might help to offset my dislike of large iPhone screens. I will just have to wait until this phone is released next year, assuming that happens.

Ditto nope for me due to rumored size.

A phone as wide/tall as a Plus model is something I don't want no matter how thin. Add in $1,300 price tag, that's a HECK NO! Not going to pay that amount of money for something that gets very little screen time.

SE 4 would be the best of all lousy options for me.

The SE 4 would be a possibility for me as well, as even the "non-pro" phones seem to gradually evolve into ever-larger screen sizes. As per my above post, I am open to a so-called "slim", if its weight is so much less as to offset the larger screen size, but to be honest, I am skeptical that the weight reduction (if enough) would be enough for me to consider purchasing one.

At this point there are zero options that can replace the 12\13 Mini, let alone the OG SE, which was and still is the best size!
So as long as one of these phones can serve my needs, I will continue to use them.

On the bright side, there's no temptation for many of us to upgrade, so we're saving money. I didn't need a new Mac mini, but got one because I couldn't resist it. I just need to remember that I can't keep spending the saved iPhone mini money, lol.

My wife is rocking with the iPhone 13 Mini and when her battery dips below 80%she wants a new battery. She refuses to even consider any of the larger sized phones as they are all awkward to her. The primary reason is she is smalll in statue and trying to carry the larger sized phones is hard for her and she can not even do most tasks one handed even like I can on my 16 Pro so as long as the 13 Mini is supported with software updates she wants to keep her Mini

The problem with the rumored device is the size of the screen. I’m sitting here right now on my couch with my iPhone 16 (regular size) and cursing at the damn thing for being so big that it’s difficult to keep from falling out of my hand. I HATE the size of this phone compared to the 12 Mini I just downgraded from. I’d sooner go with a thicker phone if it meant the screen were smaller. Thinner is incredibly compelling, as is the allure of one not-giant camera lens, but not at the expense of height and width.
