So I was thinking of grabbing a blackberry from ebay just to try out. I may also end up snagging some android device when they become more readily available on AT&T.

I currently have an iPhone.

Is there any easy way to potentially switch between the iPhone and a blackberry on a day to day basis? I'd like to be able to swap the sim card and use the blackberry for a day, or take the iPhone, whatever way. The iPhone will be the one getting the most use. But just to mix things up I'd like to use a blackberry.

Will this work? If so what might be problematic? I realize visual voicemail is an iPhone only thing. So that obviously isn't a problem really for me.

Tips, suggestions?

In order to access the internet and use email on the BlackBerry you will have to call at&t and add the BB internet service plan.

Actually, its just a swap. Tell them you are using a BB now and they can make the change for you. It cost the same as the iPhone data ($30).

that will hose visual voicemail on the iPhone right?

Was hoping to not lose it on the phone but if that's the only way to do it. hrm... have to think about it some more i suppose.

thanks

No, your vm's will not switch over. In fact, make sure when you call at&t to change the internet service tell them you want to set-up vm on the BB.

However, you will not lose what is already there (iPhone) even after you switch.

IIRC, the BlackBerry has its own Visual Voicemail application (finally btw), and you will need to get ATT to change your plan over to a BlackBerry Plan.

There are too many of these specialized plans, theres iPhone, BB, and soon Android...why not just a smartphone internet plan that covers them all? They are all the same price anyway.
