Will you put a case on?

Everyone has an opinion so I'm asking for one.

Will you be ordering a case for your iPhone X? The phone supposedly has the hardest, most durable glass ever put on a smartphone. I know other phone manufactures have been using all glass for awhile. But glass is glass and I'm sure it can break. I've always used screen savers and cases but for the iPhone X, it seems a shame to put a clear glass screen saver on the front and a case on the back to cover up a very nice looking phone. So, to cover or not to cover. Thoughts?

I've always used cases and tempered glass screen protectors with all my phones, and the X will be no different. In fact, I plan on investing in a heavier duty case than I normally use. The Lifeproof Next is looking very appealing.

I ordered a uag pathfinder case for the x. Will be delivered tomorrow. My plan is to have the phone in a case while at work only, since I work construction, there's a lot more chance of something happening. Going naked when not at work.

Having used an iPhone 4 for 3 years in the past, I would not want to go case-less on an all-glass phone, no matter how reinforced the glass is :p

Long story short for all my previous devices I’ve put them in a case as soon as I got them however this year I’m planning on going ceaseless but purchasing insurance (not AppleCare) alongside.

I will be putting glass protectors on the device in place of a case to protect the glass on both the front and back.

This is the one I purchased

most likely nothing like always. the iphone 4 has been the most durable iphone for me. had no scratches on the glass front or back.

sadly the iphone 7 got alot of hairline scratches on the display.. not sure why, never had this problem before. had one after just a few days and they just keep adding up.

but the X is supposed to have the most durable glass on a phone yet... let's see how that goes.

If I got the 8 or X. A case would depend in the type of glass which I’m unaware of thus far.

If the back glass is as scratch resistant as the front. I wouldn’t do a case. I’m more concerned with scratches than dropping any phone.

Haven't decided if I'm upgrading this year, but if I do get an X I will get a case as always. I'll probably do an Otterbox with the clear back. I would love to go caseless, but I have small kids who love to play with my phone camera and it gets dropped all the time, also by me too as I'm clumsy. My 6s plus has been dropped almost everyday at least twice a day and luckily with the case there haven't been any problems.

This otterbox case is not too bulky and is clear so it shows the beauty of the phone. This is what I would get.

I have a 2 year old now, he knocks the phone out of my hand quite often...LOL....Case for me, but usually I use the metal band around and a glass screen protector

Anyone know what kind of glass is used on the iPhone X? The Apple site doesn't say.

nope...

"The front and back feature custom glass with a 50 percent deeper strengthening layer.
The most durable glass ever in a smartphone."

or they keynote:
"And the glass is further reinforced by an internal laser welded steel and copper structure."

whatever that means ;)

I use a case on my 6s+. The moment it's removed, it's like I'm holding a completely different phone. I guess for 1k you get reminded what a 1k phone feels like every time you hold it. Still, wouldn't wanna drop it.

buying such a beaty of product and put a plastic case on it. its so stupid for me. sorry but after 2 years you gonna buy a newer iphone and the tiny little scratches you get without a case wont decrease the price when selling. i have enough experience with it.

With your story, (of constant drops and still protected) Otterbox should do a commercial with you and the kiddos.

I plan to get Lifeproof nuud which has a clear back as well and protects the phone from water damage and drop. I believe Lifeproof is better than otterbox because of water protection feature.
