Hi all, my first post here,
I tryed to use the search but couldn't find anything on the subject.
So I was wondering if you could help me out, long strory short I'v got a 20" iMac with a broken screen. But I can't find a screen anywhere for it.
But I have herd that you can use the panel from a dell UltraSharp 2007WFT to replace it.
My question is, would this work?
Or do I just have to be stuck with a broken iMac for ever!! :(

Thanks for any advice,
LukeSki

You should be able to connect your Dell 2007WFT to the external monitor port on your iMac (it should be DVI... maybe it's VGA). However, if the GPU is busted on the unit, it's not even worth the trouble. Just take the sucker to your local Apple store and they'll replace the screen.

Unless, of course, you didn't get the warranty, in which case you'll need to find a replacement screen on Ebay and do it manually (I'm sure there are how-to's on the web.

And how the heck did you break the screen? Drop it?

No, I didn't break it, I got it faulty off eBay for like £80 and was planning on replacing the screen. But I can find one anywhere, do you know where I can get one?

Thanks for you help,
LukeSki
