If I have the vista recovery DVD from my HP laptop, can I use it in boot camp? I upgraded my HP to windows 7, so it doesn't have Vista anymore. The recovery DVD is the only full windows disc i have, so would it work to install that in boot camp?
I still own a full version of windows, right? So if i can borrow a windows vista disc and type in the product key on the bottom of my laptop, i think that might work.

The key is a Windows OEM license to HP. Past versions did not work. It would detect during install it was not a key to go with the install media. I would use the Microsoft key change tool and change the key. It seemed to work for the most part.
You can try it out, I am not certain it will. In the past it didn't work, but it might now Key word is might.
OEM disks and keys are only usable on the system that they are shipped with, they are not transferrable. Whether or not Microsoft will let you do it is another question.
