I’ve got a 1080Ti (and a 980) added to my Mac Pro (4,1 upgraded 5690 CPUs to 5,1) using an external 750W power supply and it's working and now I think I need a SWEX so that I don’t have to turn on the power supply every time, and always have to shut down my Mac when I'm not using it for an couple hours.

I have a few questions though:

1. The power supply will come on with the Mac using a SWEX? (SWEX has a switch on it as well, not sure why)

2. Can I put the Mac in sleep mode safely if the power supply is external (always on)?

3. Where do I plug the 2-pin connector on the SWEX into the Mac Pro (4,1) motherboard?

Any other tips to make this hacky solution more elegant are most welcome.
