Hi,
I still use a apple Adjustable Keyboard on macOS Sierra.

I have a problem. That macOS doesn't(can't) recognize the Caps Lock key. The LED lamp lights up.
The key isn't recognized by the two USB adapter conversion adapter I have and the conversion adapter of another manufacturer of acquaintance as well. That products name are "iMate" and "uKey".

I think that this probably became unrecognizable systematically.
Is there a way to remodel the system file so that macOS Sierra can recognize the key?

It is inconvenient that the Caps Lock key isn't recognized.
Since I have no problems other than this, I will continue to use it for a long time in future.

I used my Apple Adjustable Keyboard for about 5 years, and have kept it in its box since about 1999, always moving with me from house to house, and avoiding the wife's ire along the way - but now I think I'm in trouble, cos I stupidly mentioned that I had seen them sell on eBay for around AU$400...

(However, mine is untested as I have no ADB Macs any more, so not sure if I'd get that much even though I have the box. Pretty sure I have the instal disk and manual, probably even the plastic thingy that you could write function key names on...)

BUT - Now I see your post @ZNDK ! I do recall considering trying an ADB to USB adapter years ago, but never followed through. Perhaps, just to spite the wife ;) I should jump on eBay and find one to try out! I could live without a working Caps key, and I did love the feel of the AAK.

It was hands down Apple's best keyboard - with the only problem I ever experienced being playing games like Marathon, because my preference was to use the keypad with my right hand, and the main keyboard for left hand - but the computer wouldn't recognise the "first" keypress when you changed between the two devices, and so it wasn't very practical for gaming.

Otherwise however - even the upgrade to leather wristpads on the TAM's keyboard didn't tempt me away from the AAK - at least not until I got used to using the TAM's touchpad... then I finally put the AAK into storage, because after that it was all USB...

cheers

I've had the same issue; I use an Apple ADB Keyboard (the one that came with the IIGS, legit my favorite keyboard for its feel and compact size) with my iMac running High Sierra using a Griffin iMate, and the caps lock has never been recognized. I'd always assumed that it was something wrong with my iMate since I've had it since the early 2000s. Maybe not then, perhaps it's just a limitation. Granted, I don't use caps lock that often, so it's never really bothered me, but just to offer another data point :)
