I use Apple Pay on my phone to occasionally buy things at a store, though I'd like to now use it to send someone else money instead of mailing them a check.

1. In order for this to work, do we both need to have a checking account connected to both of our Apple Pay accounts?

2. Is there a fee charged to either of us each time we transfer funds?

Thanks.

1. You, the sender, only need to have at least one debit card added to apple pay in order to fund the money transfer. The recipient can spend that money immediately by using the apple cash card anywhere both apple pay and Discover cards are accepted. Only if the recipient doesn’t want to use the apple cash card would he then need to set up a checking account to send the money there.

2. There is no fee charged for apple cash money transfers.
