Does anyone know a way to use the built in speaker or headphones on an iPhone that is docked in a speaker dock.

I have a nightstand lamp that is also an iPhone speaker dock (iHome Candy 1). I would like to be able to hear certain notifications from my phone in the night (as I depend on them for work), but the phone only vibrates when it is docked in the lamp because it is outputting all audio to the speaker in the lamp. The obvious solution is of course, turn on the speakers! The reason I don't want to do this is because when the speakers are on there's a nice obnoxious buzz that keeps me awake.

I also like to listen to music or ambient noise with headphones before I sleep, and on occasion I fall asleep and don't wake up, leaving my iPhone off of the dock that I use to charge it. It's within headphone distance of my pillow, so I'd also like the ability to use the headphone output while it's plugged into the speaker dock.

I'd love to know if there's a jailbreak hack that anyone is aware of that would allow me to override this output at will (preferably through something like an SBSettings toggle).

Know this is a little late, but I've been MIA from MacRumors for a while. Sometimes if I plug my headphones into my iPhone after it's in the dock they work fine. As for other notifications - other than the phone ringing or the alarm going off, all I can hear is a vibrating buzz when the lamp speaker is turned off.
